Statewide protests mark 100th day of relay hunger strike in Vizag to save RINL

Visakhapatnam Protests marked the 100th day of relay hunger strike by Vizag Steel Parirakshana Porata Samiti in protest against Centre's decision to privatise Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited on Saturday.

Trade unions protested across Andhra Pradesh to express their solidarity with agitating employees of RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

Committee Chairmaen D. Adinarayana and Mantri Rajasekhar said by adhering to all Covid protocols they were observing protests peacefully.

To mark the occasions, the trade unions observed a human chain with a 100-foot banner urging Centre to drop disinvestment decision here on Saturday.

At Vijayawada, activists belonging to Left parties took part in dharna.
